Spring

Warming waters and longer days, the anticipation builds as anglers search for that first spring striper.   Fish usually start arriving the second week of May, and the fishing typically picks up as we approach June.

As fish settle in for the moths of July and August, flexibility can be the name of the game. I like fishing during sunrise/sunset this time of year. With that said, sight fishing a cruising fish in the high sun can be an exhilarating experience.

Fall

My favorite time to fish for stripers. Those first cool nights of September are a time of change. Find your spot and wait for blitzing fish to swim by, while the briny ocean air mixes with the smell of a woodstove form a nearby cottage.
